1664 Bière on draught – new world beer
All Wetherspoon pubs across the UK and Ireland will be introducing a new premium draught lager. The beautifully crafted French premium lager, 1664 Bière (4.6% ABV), is being added to the company’s draught beer range.
Spring beer festival
A range of 30 real ales, including five from international brewers, will be available during a 12-day beer festival this spring. All of the beers included in the festival have been brewed by, or brewing assisted by women. In a celebration of females in the brewing industry, the festival coincides with International Women’s Day.
The festival will run from Wednesday 5 to Sunday 16 March, inclusive.
Mother’s Day

Pub history
This is named after Sir Henry Segrave who, in 1926, raised the land-speed record to 152mph in his 350hp 4.5-litre Sunbeam Ladybird, on Southport’s Birkdale Sands. At the turn of the 20th century, Southport was a leading venue for motor-racing. Henry Segrave was eventually knighted, dying in June 1930, having just set a new world record on Lake Windermere.
