Jaipur at Wetherspoon
Wetherspoon pubs will be stocking Jaipur from 9 April.
Jaipur is a flagship beer from Thornbridge brewery in Derbyshire, first brewed in 2005 and was the beer that put Thornbridge brewery on the map. Tasting notes for Jaipur are below.

1664 Bière on draught – new world beer
All Wetherspoon pubs across the UK and Ireland will be introducing a new premium draught lager. The beautifully crafted French premium lager, 1664 Bière (4.6% ABV), is being added to the company’s draught beer range.

Poretti (4.8% ABV) is an Italian premium full-flavoured lager, characterised by a pillowy white head, brilliant clarity and a polished golden colour.

Pub history
Byker was originally one of five villages which made up the ‘township of Byker’, transformed by industrial expansion from the growth of the coal trade on the Tyne. Lawson Main Colliery stood at the east end of Shields Road (near Brough Park Greyhound Stadium). The coal mine and the nearby quarry were named after the Lawson family (from Brough, in Yorkshire), who had owned most of old Byker since 1543. ‘Main’ referred to the High Main coal seam.
